Lanterns and beautiful floral arrangements decorated the intimate space and a guitarist played during the entrance of the bridal party and the departure of the new Mr & Mrs.
After toasting their marriage with Mulled Cider and Kir Royale, the couple and their guests entered The Monks’ Refectory and were presented with a delicious three course menu, pre-chosen by the bride and groom when they attended a menu tasting at Notley Abbey several months before their big day.
The couple’s semi-naked wedding cake, designed by The Oxford Cake Company, stood three tiers tall and was decorated with autumnal fresh fruit and foliage. The red velvet flavoured wedding cake was cut up and distributed to guests throughout the evening – except the top tier which was taken home by the couple to enjoy in the future.
Wedding reception tables followed a gin theme and guests were given Gin & Tonic flavored popcorn as wedding favours. Rebecca and Tom hired the Harper Sweetie Cart to feature along side an evening buffet of mini burgers and bacon butties, and a band called The Distractions brought the evening reception party to life. The newlywed’s first dance song was ‘The Only Reason’ by JP Cooper – the couple play this album at home and the words meant so much to them both. The dance floor remained full throughout the night; there was a limbo, dancing on shoulders, conga trains, break dancing and a dance off! Picture Blast Photo Booth was also a great addition to evening celebrations at Notley Abbey.
The couple’s most memorable part of the wedding was the first glimpse of each other walking down the aisle, and when they walked in to The Monks’ Refectory as husband and wife. However, another extremely memorable party of the wedding, was when the couple kick-started their evening celebrations with their guests by watching the most incredible fireworks display, put on by Harper Partner Pyromania Displays. The newlyweds huddled under the smallest umbrella watching the fireworks as their guests gazed in awe behind them. They couldn’t stop laughing at the madness – it was crazy and magical, like a romcom movie.
The following morning guests gathered for breakfast with the bride and groom, who were also celebrating another very special occasion – their daughters 1st birthday. It was the ultimate way to end what had been the most special of occasions at Notley Abbey.
