After Nicky and Mike had chosen their dream wedding venue, they booked a band and were introduced to wedding photographer, Helen Cawte, through a friend at work. Helen’s portfolio was incredible, with a soft, subtle focus on the detail. Her calm demeanour meant that the couple felt completely at ease, therefore Nicky and Mike ended up with thousands of photos capturing so many different moments and memories throughout the day.
The wedding cake and menu tasting at Harper, prior to the wedding day, was fantastic. To the benefit of Nicky’s father, Mike was unable to make the food tasting and so Nicky and her father sampled their way through six miniature versions of each dish across three different courses, with fine wine to match. They settled on a delicious wedding breakfast menu of smoked salmon, Hampshire sticky beef and crème brulee.
The team at Botleys Mansion introduced Nicky and Mike to Mandy, the owner of Sonning Flowers, when it came to decorating their day with fragrance and beauty. A floral theme of pretty pastels, with soft pinks, peaches and creams were used to complement Nicky’s sleek, satin Amanda Wakeley wedding gown. Nicky chose mint coloured bridesmaids dresses designed by Maids to Measure, for her best girls; the choice of colour was taken from inspiration surrounding Botleys Mansion and spring blossoms. The bouquets and floral arrangements included roses, blossom, ranunculus and gypsophila.
