A Pink Blossom Themed Spring Wedding at Cain Manor

Alice and David started their journey together when they met on the dance floor in their local bar. After four years of being together, David decided that on the 21st November 2015, he was going to ask Alice to be his wife.

David had perfectly planned a romantic day out in London. He had tickets to see the tennis, following on with a romantic meal at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant and then ending the evening with a luxury night’s stay at The Corinthia Hotel.

David had it all thought out and decided that he would pop the question right in front of the beautifully lit up London Eye on their way back to the hotel. However, due to it being a very cold day and Alice’s feet hurting, David quickly decided that he would ask the question in the hotel room instead.

After Alice being half asleep and cold in the taxi ride back, they went up to their suite to an even colder room as the air con had been turned on whilst they were out. Alice jumped into bed, fully clothed, including shoes, coat and began to fall asleep!

David knew that it was ‘now or never’ so he got down on one knee, presented Alice with a bespoke engagement ring he had made for her and asked the question he had been building up the courage to ask all day. David explains that he has never seen someone go from fast asleep to wide awake so quickly in his life. Of course Alice said YES with tears of joy and it was a perfect end to what will be one of their most memorable days together.

Choosing the Dress

Alice first tried on what she didn’t know at the time would be her wedding dress, but continued to shop around. Alice tried on a total of 18 dresses all together before realising that none of them could match up, so Alice went back to a bridalwear shop in Chobham and knew that the fit and flare style, Pronovias gown that she kept comparing all of the other dresses to was ‘the one’ for her.

Alice fell in love with the oyster shade of her dress. She made it unique to her own personal style by adding a sequin belt and bolero. When trying on her dress, the reaction from her mum and sister, confirmed that this was the gown she wanted to get married in.

Alice finished her look with a sparkly pair of Badgley Mischka heels, a low hair up do with an Etsy headpiece and this was created with the help of her wedding hair and make-up stylist, Helen Andrews.

This was all beautifully brought together with a final touch of her bridal bouquet, consisting of roses, brunia balls, ranunculus and silver foliage. Florist Louise Avery did an amazing job with all of the rustic-inspired floral bouquets, button holes and decorations throughout the day.

The Wedding Party

Alice chose her sister, Amy, to be her bridesmaid/maid of honour. They shopped together for her bridesmaid dress and found a full length, strapless, charcoal grey dress, which complimented Alice’s oyster coloured wedding gown perfectly!

David and his ushers wore a three-piece suit with a horseshoe waistcoat, from Thom Sweeney, Mayfair. This spring groom style was finished off with a combination of ranunculus and brunia ball flowers for their button holes.

The Big Day: Saturday 8th April, 2017

Alice and David found Cain Manor online and after seeing two other wedding venues, they knew as soon as they walked into the Music Room, that this was the place they wanted to get married.

At 1pm on Saturday 8th April 2017, Alice and David said their vows in front of 72 of their closest friends and family in the Music Room at Cain Manor.

Alice and David decided on a pink blossom theme to feature their wedding day and decorated the ceremony room with a cherry blossom and lantern display down the aisle, paired with real blossom branches in a large urn at the end of the aisle. This was the perfect setting for Alice to walk arm in arm, down the aisle with her mother, Jane, and their choice of music, ‘The Luckiest’ by Ben Folds, blissfully playing in the background.

After a joyful drinks reception filled with photos, laughter and fizz, the newlyweds entered back into the Music Room for their three course wedding banquet.
