Tell us a little bit about The Miacats

​We offer ‘day to night’ live music for weddings, with acoustic duo sets crafted specially for ceremonies, relaxed sets for drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts and with our 4 piece line up we can offer energy party sets for filling the dance floor in the evening. We like to adapt songs acoustically, similar Radio 1’s live lounge, Boyce Avenue, Post Modern Jukebox, and Walk Off The Earth. We have performed live on the prime time Andrew Peach Show on ‘BBC Radio Berkshire’, feature on the exclusive ‘Pizza Express’ artist roster, as well as appearances at festivals, weddings, on a luxury cruise ship as well as many parties and celebrations. We use high quality Bose PA specifically designed for acoustic music, and can personalise our set list to suit, if there’s something you’d like us to play that is not already in our repertoire we can learn it (it’s how we’ve reached nearly 300 songs on our playlist!). We expand to a trio or 4 piece acoustic band as required and we can also be fully portable for a ‘pop-up’ gig anywhere.​

How would you describe your style and what makes you unique?

We play anything from the 50’s to the latest hits, but come up with our own arrangements using acoustic guitars, looping, vocal harmonies and percussion, similar to Radio 1’s live lounge. We perform as a duo, trio or 4 piece and everything is live, no backing tracks, so we can adapt to our surroundings, going from chilled to upbeat to create the right atmosphere. We also do a themed 50’s and 60’s set for vintage style events which is great fun.

Can couples come and see you perform live before booking you?

Most of our performances are private events but our public gigs are posted on our Facebook page, we’d love to meet you! We also have live videos for you to listen to.

Do you take requests?

Yes, and we like to personalise our playlists for each gig so we’ll make sure we know what you’re into ahead of the day. We often get asked to play a couple’s first dance in an acoustic style.

Do you have a dress code?

We dress smart casual but always check with the hosts what the vibe is.

How long does your set usually last?

We normally play for 2 hours, split into 2 or 3 sets.

Where do you get you musical inspiration from?

Such a big question for musicians! We have loads of artists we love, Elvis, Fleetwood Mac, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Queen…. but we take inspiration from bands such as Post Modern Jukebox, Walk Off The Earth, Boyce Avenue, Ed Sheeran for our arrangements.

How far in advance should couples book you?

The more notice we have the more likely we will be able to guarantee your date, around 6 months is great. We work internationally so some months we aren’t in the UK.
