Wedding Ceremonies

Where to choose? The Green Room: intimate, undeniably romantic. The Atrium: showier perhaps, bathed in the light of a soaring glass roof (with a sweeping staircase to descend). Or the gardens, with the house a fetching backdrop. Let’s take a tour…

The Green Room

On the piano nobile (the house’s raised ground floor), The Green Room hosts up to 131 guests. In the light of a summer afternoon, its soft, pastel hues take on a certain ethereal quality. With a striking centrepiece chandelier and intricately carved ceilings, the acoustics here are second-to-none, making it the perfect setting for a string quartet.

The Atrium

A more contemporary space, flooded with light by day, a magical spectacle by night, The Atrium hosts up to 288 seated guests. There’s nothing quite like the head-turning moment you begin your descent of the central staircase, into a sea of admiring smiles. Yes, you do look a million dollars.

The gardens

The double doors in the Temple Wing of The Atrium lead out to an aisle pathway through the Temple Garden. With guests seated either side, it’s ideal for an al fresco ceremony in the sunshine. Equally enchanting, the Mansion Lawn is now licensed for ceremonies, with a pretty gazebo the centrepiece.

Drinks reception & canapés

Rings on fingers, confetti on shoulders, it’s time to celebrate. At Botleys Mansion, this means bottomless Prosecco and Pimm’s – served with perfectly paired canapés. Picture the scene as your guests gather – glasses in hand – around the fountain to admire the view. For winter weddings, the celebrations unfold with drinks around the grand piano, and in the rarefied settings of The Morning Room and Library.

Wedding banquet

If you’ve chosen to marry in The Green Room, moving to The Atrium for your wedding breakfast and reception means you enjoy more of the house.

The clean lines of The Atrium complement the more traditional feel of the piano nobile – it’s perfectly possible to enjoy both parts of the house as your wedding day unfolds.

Evening reception

If you simply must invite everyone (and why not?), you’ll be reassured to know The Atrium comfortably hosts up to 500 guests for an evening reception. It’ll be quite the party. You might like to keep the wings closed during your wedding breakfast, then open to reveal the evening’s entertainment for a seamless transition from the last petit fours to the first dance (your DJ will thank you).

Fireworks at Botleys Mansion

If you’d like to light up the night sky with a show-stopping fireworks display it can be arranged, subject to local authority permission. Just ask and we’ll help you make it happen.
