Laura and Adam’s Wedding at Cain Manor

Explore Cain Manor

An October wedding day full of autumnal hues and elegant charm.

Laura and Adam met through the construction industry, whilst both on the same project in the romantic city of Paris. After many dates, lots of love and further travelling over 2 years, Adam decided he wanted to propose in another romantic European city, Florence.

Adam carried the ring in his pocket for three full days before he found the perfect opportunity to propose, whilst having dinner in Piazza di San Firenze. He wanted to get down on one knee but was struggling to find the right opportunity. During dessert, Laura spilt tiramisu on her white jeans and was worrying it had stained, Adam got up, pretending to check on the stain, but instead got down on one knee at the side of the table. The whole restaurant and people in the Piazza were excited and looking at us and cheering when Laura said yes!

Choosing Cosy Cain Manor

Excited to commence wedding planning, Laura and Adam researched lots of venues online but struggled to find the cosy, intimate venue that they were dreaming of. Cain Manor, located near Farnham in Surrey, was the only venue that they visited, and they fell in love instantly!

It started with the beautiful drive through the woodland to reach the venue, which they both thought was beautiful. Laura says that the venue looked magical from the outside but the inside was even better!

Upon entering Cain Manor, Laura and Adam didn’t have a wedding date in mind, but after seeing the grounds in all of their autumnal glory and the fires burning in the reception rooms, they knew they wanted to get married the following October, and after checking availability, they chose a date and put down a deposit.

The Big Day: 26th October

Laura and her Bridal Party got ready upstairs in Cain Manor, whilst the venue team and suppliers got to work downstairs making the Music Room look perfect for her grand entrance.

Heart rose wreath decor

Harper Partner, Party lights provided a canopy of twinkling fairy lights which swept across the beams of the Music room. Below this, the aisle was lined with hurricane vases and natural petals which tied into the colours of the Bridal bouquet. At 2pm, the Bride made her entrance with her Dad to the Jurassic Park theme music – certainly a memorable moment for everyone there.

After the nuptials, Laura and Adam took a moment to themselves to take it all in, they were able to enjoy those moments together over a glass of champagne whilst their guests mingled in the gardens. Shortly after, the newlyweds made their entrance into the courtyard to the cheers of their friends and family as they threw confetti over the new Mr & Mrs.

Laura and Adam said that this was unexpected but was an absolutely magical moment and they have some of the best photos from the confetti throwing.

The reception tables were decorated with low floral arrangements, designed by another Harper Partner, Sonning Flowers – and tealights to add a romantic feel. The wedding flowers (including Laura’s bridal bouquet), featured champagne and burgundy coloured blooms, including roses, dahlia, astible, astrantia lisianthus and brunia berries, combined with lashings of foliage. Laura and Adam gave their guests individually wrapped parcels of truffles as favours, these were tied with burgundy ribbon, once again matching the colour scheme perfectly. The Cain Manor team provided the ivory chair sashes which completed the room.

After the wedding the guests watched as Laura and Adam danced their first dance as husband and wife to Tom Odell’s ‘Grow Old with Me’. Following that, the guests took the opportunity to get silly in the photobooth, the Bride and Groom said they have some fantastic photos from this.
Guests then danced the night away to the rock and indie tunes performed by the couple’s wedding band, ‘Season’.

Final comments from the bride:

“We were given advice from a lady at Cain Manor on our first visit which was to write a list of all the things that need organising, put them in order of what needs sorting first and do them one at a time. It sounds a bit strange, but it was a life saver! We managed to have a very calm, organised planning experience!”
