The couple celebrated a Luxury Barn-Style Wedding

Be inspired by this stunning wedding that took place during September 2016.

About the couple

Natalie and Jake met whilst they were both holiday in Las Vegas; Natalie was on a girly holiday and Jake was on a stag do!

The couple enjoyed each others company so much that they became a couple and dated for 4 and a half years before Jake decided to take their relationship to the next level.
Jake planned a dream proposal. After arriving home one Friday night after work she realised that their dining room had been filled with 200 pearlised ivory helium balloons, each with a satin ribbon hanging from it. On the end of each ribbon was a ticket, business card, or another keepsake from the hundreds of places that Natalie and Jake had been during their years together. There were candles everywhere, champagne on ice and their song was playing in the background. It was the perfect setting for the perfect proposal. Jake had designed the ultimate engagement ring for Natalie and the couple couldn’t wait to start their wedding planning journey, and their future, together.
They wanted to tie the knot within a year, and ended up getting married just 1 day short of their proposal-versary!

Finding the dress

Natalie knew that she wanted to get her wedding dress ‘just right’ for the big day and therefore spent lots of time researching and trying to find her dream gown. She ended up trying on around 20 wedding dresses before falling in love with ‘Elma’ by Ronald Joyce. “The dress was like nothing I had seen before. I wanted something with a bit of sparkle which was elegant at the same time, and this dress just had the most beautiful detail and felt so luxurious” said Natalie.
Natalie teamed her dream wedding dress up with a dream pair of Jimmy Choo wedding shoes! ‘Lucy’ in silver looked incredible under Natalie’s beautiful wedding dress and when it came to her bridal beauty, Natalie decided to wear her hair half-up and half-down with a gorgeous veil attached.

Choosing a barn wedding venue

When searching for their ultimate wedding venue, Natalie and Jake knew that they wanted a barn venue with accommodation so that their closest friends and family could stay the night.

However, during their search, they found a lot of barn venues to be dark and not so inviting – until they saw The Music Room at Cain Manor. They fell in love with big window seeing as it let in so much light and could instantly envision their day taking place at the exclusive use venue on the border of Surrey and Hampshire.

After booking their wedding date, Natalie and Jake started the process of communicating their wedding plans and ideas to their Wedding Planning Manager, Ann. Ann made sure that every detail of Natalie and Jake’s wedding was carefully input in to Harper’s online planner.

The big day

Natalie and Jake opted to have a civil wedding ceremony in The Music Room on Saturday 24th September, 2016. Natalie arrived at Cain Manor with her bridesmaids at 11am and together, they got ready in the bridal suite, before making their way down to The Music Room.

Ahead of the ceremony, their wedding florist, Angel Like Flowers, had created a truly stunning setting for the ceremony. Incredible floral arrangements lined the aisle, creating the ultimate pathway for the bride and her father to approach groom Jake. Natalie walked down the aisle to ‘How Long Will I Love You’ by Ellie Goulding and the couple said their wedding vows in front of 97 guest.

Ahead of the wedding ceremony, guests were invited to make their own confetti cone from a confetti pick ‘n’ mix table that Natalie and Jake had pre-arranged. This was a great and super creative way to get friends and family involved! As the newlywed couple walked back down the aisle, guests tossed their cones of confetti, making for the ultimate photograph – and memory!

Natalie is half Cypriot, so therefore wanted to include a little bit of Cypriot culture in to her wedding day. After discussing their bespoke requirements with Harper’s expert chefs, the couple agreed on a menu consisting of dips and keftedes (meatballs) to start with, followed by sticky Hampshire beef and cherry treacle tart for dessert.

To decorate their wedding reception tables, Natalie and Jake chose to frame their table numbers which sat on mirrored plates. The whole reception had an air of elegance about it. Gypsophilia sat in vases and guests were given photo-stand wedding favours which had their place card attached to it. In terms of a colour scheme, tones of neutral, gold, champagne and ivory decorated the day beautifully and tea-light candles added a twinkly atmosphere. The couple also placed a selfie stick on each table so that guests could take their own pictures throughout the day and night; the couple have ended up with a comical album of memories that they’ll now be able to treasure forever.

After wedding breakfast and before the evening dancing began, Natalie and Jake cut through an ultra-glamorous three-tier wedding cake consisting of lemon, chocolate and salted caramel flavours. Then, an a capella group called The Buzztones came to sing ahead of the Harper DJ.  The group sang familiar pop-songs and really got the party started. When the Harper DJ started Natalie’s Cypriot family performed a surprise dance which really got everyone involved. The couple danced their first dance to ‘Kiss Me’ by Ed Sheeran and instead of tossing her own bouquet, Natalie tossed one of the bridesmaids’ bouquets to her single friends – it was all great fun.

The bridal party

Natalie chose her two oldest friends, Monica and Hannah to support her as bridesmaids on the big day. They wore gorgeous, taupe coloured, floor-length beaded gowns that Natalie chose from Adrianna Papell.

The groom and his groomsmen headed to the high street when it came to finding their attire; they chose super smart suits from Moss bros, designed by Ted Baker.

The honeymoon

The newlywed couple are set to spend their romantic honeymoon in New York, followed by a tropical, Caribbean cruise. When asked if they had any advice for future wedding planning couples, they said, “Try everything yourself and get involved! All the details and fun things you’ve planned aren’t just for the guests, make time to enjoy it all yourself too.”
We love that bit of advice. Aside from the planning and organising involved in bringing your perfect day together, having fun along the way, and on the big day, is essential!
