A November Wedding at Cain Manor for Victoria and Andrew

Victoria and Andrew booked their dream wedding venue before their official engagement. They then spent 1 year planning their special day and welcoming their baby girl to the world.

Booking the Venue Before the Proposal

As a wedding photographer herself, Victoria had photographed a couple of weddings at Cain Manor in the past. Amongst all of the venues she had previously worked at, she knew that Cain Manor was definitely the venue she hoped to celebrate her wedding at one day in the future. The couple were expecting a baby and decided they wanted to get married, so Victoria took Andrew to visit Cain Manor hoping he would love the exclusive use, country house wedding venue as much as she did. Luckily, he agreed! The couple then booked the venue almost exactly a year before their wedding date, leaving them time to welcome their new addition to the family and plan their dream day at the same time. On the day their daughter was born, Andrew got down on one knee by Victoria’s bedside and proposed; it certainly was a special day and a double celebration to share with friends and family.

Finding the Dream Dress

Victoria tried on about 8 different designs before finding “The One,” at luxurious bridalwear shop in Fleet. The Ivory MGNY wedding dress was scattered with sparkling crystals on the bodice and the top layer of the skirt, which made her feel amazing. Victoria teamed her beautiful gown with a pair of bridal shoes from Rainbow Club, although she changed into a pair of Toms for the evening so that she could dance the night away in comfort. Victoria’s close friend styled her long hair up in curls for the day, and her makeup was done by artist Helen Andrew.

The Big Day – Friday 11th November, 2016

Victoria and Andrew found their Harper online planner incredibly useful when it came to organising and communicating the different aspects and requirements of their day to The Harper Team. No detail was forgotten and the day ran exactly as planned with the support of Cain Manor’s expert team; the couple could simply relax and enjoy their wedding day celebrations.

Victoria’s father walked her down the aisle to ‘How Long Will I Love You’ by Ellie Goulding, and both her mother and brother did readings during the ceremony. During their relaxed drinks reception, their photographer, Harper Partner Faye Cornhill, took plenty of group photos to capture the whole family together, as well as some romantic photos of the couple in the beautiful gardens at Cain Manor.
The couple were then announced into their wedding breakfast, where Victoria had decorated each table with vases full of floating candles surrounded by tea lights and navy scatter crystals which reflected in large circular mirrors. Each table was named after a Coldplay song, and their 3 tier wedding cake was another gorgeous feature which matched their wedding theme perfectly. Decorated with cascading flowers and navy ribbon, their delicious wedding cake was kindly made by Victoria’s aunt and finished with an elegant subtle shimmer.
The wedding party enjoyed an exquisite 3-course banquet consisting of a red onion tart starter, sticky Hampshire beef for the main course and Harper’s classic sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
The couple hired the Harper DJ for their evening entertainment, who played Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ for their first dance. The party continued all evening, with their guests being served a well-received evening buffet of mini burgers and mini bacon butties alongside a slice of the couple’s delicious wedding cake.

The Wedding Party

Victoria had 5 bridesmaids, including her 10-month old daughter and step-daughter, who were all dressed in navy. She also had her son and step-son as page boys. Andrew had his five closest friends as ushers who all wore hired suits from Stafford Tailoring in Fleet. Gregor Cuthbertson-Pell at Nicci-Gs Flower Studio created all of the floral arragements for the day. Victoria’s bouquet featured included roses, calla lilies and gypsophila. The groom’s party wore roses, and the young boys had gypsophila, while Andrew had a unique calla lily button hole in order to look slightly different.

A message from the Bride and Groom

“The whole day was perfect from start to finish. We were blessed with amazing weather and we made sure we took everything in. The staff at the venue, our photographer and the ceremony registrars were all fantastic and made everything run smoothly.”
When asked if they had any advice for other couples getting married soon. They said: “take your time to plan and prepare but be assured that you will receive the most amazing help and support along the way, so just enjoy it all!”
